Camp Angelus

Mission
Camp Angelus joins Round Hill of the Diocese of La Crosse in its mission to inspire evangelization of the area and to preserve its natural and historical surroundings by strengthening family life, fostering youth and sportsman activities, conservation, education and research and by serving civic needs consistent with Catholic values.
A site for families, youth, and groups seeking spiritual renewal, healthy outdoor activities and a better understanding and appreciation of God, nature and human fellowship. Round Hill and Camp Angelus are located in the beautiful hillside prarie and woodland region of West Central Wisconsin. This pristine site borders the Chippewa River South of Durand. The history and location of these sites make them a wonderful destination for anyone who wishes to enjoy and learn more about nature, participate in family and youth activities, or seek quiet spiritual refreshment.
Originally funded by the Diocese of LaCrosse and a generous private donor, both locations are not under the management of Round Hill Inc., a non-profit organization. Opportunities are provided for family gatherings, wildlife viewing, bird watching, fishing, and canoeing, camping, cultural and educational resources and activities. A natural place of abounding nature and solitude, Round Hill and Camp Angelus are excellent locations for seminars in history, ecology, philosophy, and religious retreats. This quiet gem on the Chippewa River is also the perfect space for prayer and meditation.
